Once approved, your kitten is reserved when the deposit is confirmed. We share updates while your kitten grows, a veterinarian clears them for release, and we arrange pickup or transport. Each kitten’s adoption fee, reservation deposit and remaining balance are shown on their profile. The standard reservation deposit is $300 for every kitten, and the remaining balance is the adoption fee less that deposit. Transport is quoted separately.

The standard $300 deposit secures your kitten and is ordinarily non-refundable once the reservation is accepted. If we cannot complete the placement because your kitten becomes medically unavailable or cannot safely be placed, you may choose a full refund or a transfer to another available kitten. The remaining balance is due in cleared funds 7 calendar days before the scheduled pickup or transport date, unless we agree otherwise in writing. If your kitten is ready sooner than 7 days after your reservation, it may be due immediately or on the date in your reservation agreement.

If you cancel voluntarily after your reservation is accepted, the deposit is normally forfeited. Amounts paid beyond the deposit may be refundable under your written reservation agreement, less any non-recoverable costs such as booked transport.

Payment instructions are provided privately after an application has been reviewed and approved. Maine Coon Grove does not request payment through the public application form, and this website has no online checkout.

If your kitten becomes medically unavailable or cannot safely be placed, you choose between a full refund of the amounts paid and a transfer of those funds to another available kitten.

Kittens generally join their new families at around 16 weeks, subject to individual development, veterinary clearance and travel requirements.

Pickup (no charge), ground delivery (quoted by distance), air cargo (quoted on request) and flight nanny (quoted on request). Availability depends on destination, weather, carrier rules, and your kitten’s age, health and veterinary clearance, and final arrangements are confirmed in writing before travel. There is a 5-day grace period after the agreed pickup or homecoming date. If a delay continues beyond that, boarding terms apply, and prolonged delays may need a new written agreement. Your kitten’s welfare always comes first.

After the 5-day grace period, a boarding fee of $25 per day may apply, as confirmed in writing. It may be waived where the delay is caused by us or by an approved transport arrangement.

A veterinary health certificate, vaccination and health records as applicable to your kitten, microchip details where applicable, and your written reservation / adoption agreement. Pedigree registration paperwork is included where it applies to your kitten.

Please have your kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of arrival. This first exam is at your cost. If veterinary offices are unavailable because of a documented closure or emergency, book the first available appointment. The visit keeps the health guarantee active.

For 12 months from homecoming, serious congenital or hereditary conditions that materially affect quality of life, diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian and supported by records. Ordinary, common or transient conditions are excluded. Remedies may include a replacement kitten, a credit or a refund of up to the adoption fee. If we ask for an independent second opinion, we pay its reasonable cost. Never delay medically necessary care while a claim is reviewed. See our Health Guarantee.

Please contact us first. Your adoption agreement includes a right of first refusal: before selling, transferring or surrendering your cat to another private party, you agree to let us know. We may accept the cat’s return, help with responsible rehoming, or decline. This never prevents an emergency surrender to a veterinarian, shelter or rescue where your cat’s safety requires it.

Each kitten is examined by a veterinarian before homecoming. Vaccinations, deworming, microchip, FIV/FeLV screening and registration are provided as applicable to each kitten’s individual records. See our Health & Genetics page.

No, not unless they are expressly granted in a written agreement. Each kitten’s profile shows whether they come home altered, intact under a pet agreement, or with alteration required by contract. Without written breeding rights, every placement is a pet / companion placement.

Maine Coons are one of the largest domestic breeds. Adult males commonly weigh around 13 to 18 pounds and females around 8 to 12 pounds, with plenty of individual variation. They mature slowly, often filling out until three to five years of age. Read more in our size and growth guide.
