Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply when you use this website and adopt a kitten from Maine Coon Grove.

These Terms & Conditions apply to your use of this website and to any adoption from Maine Coon Grove (“Maine Coon Grove”, “we”, “us”), a sole proprietorship based in Dallas, Texas, USA. By using this website or reserving a kitten, you agree to them. Your written reservation / adoption agreement forms part of these terms, and where it sets different terms for your adoption, it applies.

1. Using this website

You may use this website for personal, non-commercial purposes. Please do not misuse it, attempt to disrupt it, or copy its content without permission.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to apply for, reserve or adopt a kitten.

3. Applications

  • Information you give us must be accurate and complete.
  • Materially false or misleading information may result in rejection or cancellation, as described in our Reservation & Refund Policy.
  • We may ask reasonable follow-up questions.
  • Approval is at our discretion, based on kitten welfare and placement suitability. Submitting an application does not oblige either of us to proceed.

4. Availability

Kitten availability can change quickly. A listing is not an offer. A kitten is reserved only when your application is approved and the reservation deposit is confirmed.

5. Pricing

Each kitten’s adoption fee, reservation deposit and remaining balance are shown on their profile in US dollars. The standard reservation deposit is $350 for every kitten. Transport is quoted separately. Prices may exclude any applicable taxes.

Payment instructions are provided privately after an application has been reviewed and approved. A kitten is considered reserved only after approval and confirmation of the required reservation deposit. This website has no online checkout and does not process card payments, and we never publish bank or account details.

6. Errors and corrections

We take care to keep information accurate, but errors can occur, and a kitten’s appearance changes as they grow. We may correct errors in listings, prices or availability at any time. If a correction affects a reservation you have already made, we will contact you, and you may choose to proceed on the corrected terms or receive a refund of the amounts paid.

7. Reservation, deposits, balance and cancellation

Reservations, deposits, the remaining balance (due 7 calendar days before pickup or transport), cancellations, boarding and refunds are governed by our Reservation & Refund Policy.

8. Health guarantee and veterinary exam

Kittens are living animals and may experience minor health fluctuations, particularly during travel and settling in. Health protection is provided under our Health Guarantee, which requires a veterinary examination within 72 hours of arrival.

9. Transport and delays

Pickup and transport are governed by our Delivery Policy. We are not responsible for delays caused solely by airlines, weather, airports or other third parties, but will help with reasonable rescheduling.

10. Your responsibilities

You agree to provide appropriate nutrition, a safe environment, and routine and emergency veterinary care, and you are responsible for all costs of care from homecoming onward. Temperament develops with environment, handling and time, and is not guaranteed.

11. Alteration and breeding rights

Each kitten’s profile and your written agreement state whether your kitten comes home altered, intact under a pet agreement, or with alteration required by contract. Breeding rights are granted only by written agreement. Without one, the placement is a pet / companion placement.

12. Rehoming

  • Right of first refusal: your written adoption agreement asks that, if you can no longer keep your cat, you contact us before selling, transferring or surrendering the cat to another private party.
  • We may accept the cat’s return, assist with responsible rehoming, or decline. We cannot guarantee that we will always take a cat back.
  • This never prevents a humane emergency surrender to a veterinarian, shelter or rescue where necessary for the animal’s safety.
  • Ownership passes to you at adoption, and we do not retain ownership. The original adoption fee is not reimbursed on a return or rehoming; any financial arrangement must be agreed separately in writing.
  • Abandonment is prohibited, and we encourage responsible rehoming that puts the cat’s welfare first.

13. Intellectual property

The text, photographs, logos and design of this website belong to Maine Coon Grove or are used with permission. Please do not copy or reuse them without our written consent.

14. Third-party services

Some services, such as transport, email and, in future, payment processing, are provided by third parties under their own terms. We are not responsible for third-party websites or services we do not control.

15. Limitation of liability

Subject to applicable law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, and our total liability in connection with an adoption is limited to the amounts you paid for that kitten. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.

16. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, transport disruption, illness, natural disasters or government action. We will keep you informed and work with you on reasonable alternatives.

17. Governing law and disputes

We will always try to resolve concerns informally first. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, subject to applicable federal law and any mandatory consumer-protection rules.

18. Changes

We may update these terms. The version published when you reserve your kitten applies to your adoption.
